Water Quality

Is a reverse osmosis system worth it?

A reverse osmosis (RO) system is worth it if you want noticeably cleaner-tasting drinking water, since it filters out a wide range of contaminants and minerals that affect taste. Most systems install under the kitchen sink and feed a dedicated faucet.

It pairs well with a whole-home softener: the softener protects your plumbing and appliances from hard-water scale, while the RO unit polishes the water you actually drink and cook with.

RO does remove beneficial minerals along with contaminants, which is why the water tastes so clean; if you prefer, a remineralization filter can add some back for taste. We'll help you decide whether RO, filtration, or softening best fits your goals.
